Emmanuel Macron is to travel during the cherry blossom season to the two North-East Asian countries, long neglected by the French president. His tour will provide a catch-up session for these two relationships, where defence cooperation has been stymied.

Kyiv consults British experts on front line reinforcements amid UK-France plans for post-war force

Military and defence officials recently heard pitches from field engineering experts on how to strengthen the front line, including from the UK. The move comes as both London and Paris have promised to commit to leading a multinational force in Ukraine to defend an eventual ceasefire.

Paris is currently pursuing an aggressive trade diplomacy policy in Athens, while Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is also tapping into his family's cultural diplomacy skills in the French capital.

France tries to bar Turkish-born engineer from restricted zones at Airbus

France's DRSD military counterintelligence service refused an engineer access to sensitive sites at the Airbus Defence and Space site in Toulouse, where he had a job offer. The decision, based on the fact the engineer was from Turkey, a ‘country of particular sensitivity', was overturned in court.
